Ray Feller has announced that a edinner will be held at the Pittsburgh ANA convenstion aka World's Fair of Money honoring Steve Feller. The tentative plan is to hold the dinner at a near-by restaurant on Thursday evening August 27.

This Gram embraces the Fest, the Summer Seminar, AND the World's Fair of Money! The emphasis though is certainly shifting to the convention/WFM. Squeezed into the schedule is the world's largest D-Day reenactment. It is held on the Lake Erie beach of Conneaut, Ohio. This is a great event. In addition to reenactment and other eduational activities is includes a vendor area where I always find things of interest. I cannot promise that you will find rare MPC, but you should find, as I said, things of interest.
Changing topics. If you have trouble reading Kaz Fujita's major article above, try enlarging the image on your computer. Far be if for me to give computer advice, but I am particularly pleased to offer this advice because the presentation of the article introduces a new Gram technique. We (Kaz and I) have struggled for weeks to get his article into the Gram while retaining the format and footnotes. Kaz came up with the solution. He sent us digital image of the text rather than the text itself. It worked great.

Fred, at a local Postal Historical Foundation I was going through a large plastic bin of covers. Most are modern US first day covers but there are some older envelops mixed in, some from the WWII era. I found an envelope with three For Defense 1 cent stamps on it with a Buy War bonds and Savings Stamps postmark on it (1943). What caught my eye was a brown piece of paper that was mailed from Lexington, MA to West Yarmouth, MA. On the upper right is a 1942 War Savings 10 cents stamp that has cancelled. From what I can read it was postmarked in Boston, unfortunately there is no date. The postmark is almost exclusively on the stamp but on the lower left there is same ink on the paper. On the lower left of the paper is Returned Souvenir/No Writing. It appears to be the front of an envelope. Certainly, it is not a great example, and it is "different" and I like it.

I had the pleasure of attending ANA Summer Seminar. I did both the mini boot camp and World War 2 numismatics. Both classes were highly enjoyable. Both classes were small which allowed for plenty of class participation. It was a real pleasure to listen to Joe and Fred share their stories and parts of their collections. I also made some new friends with my classmates, Sparky, Steve and Tom it was a pleasure to get to know them. I also got two new challenge coins. The other cool item i got was a short shorter signed by my class mates anthe instructors Fred and Joe it was also signed by the two roving instructors Ken Hallenbeck and Ken Berssett. The best thing this year was the classroom was located close to the elevator and bathrooms. Thanks for a great experience.
